No dial tone, constantly engaged.

Hi 

The phone line has been playing up for the past few weeks but now seems dead. Initially it was crackly and sometimes lost dial tone, which could be rectified by calling it from another phone, until next time. 
Now no dial tone and going through the online system tests says it’s in use (engaged). Have tried other handset, direct into wall socket (it’s not a hub connection) but still the same. Can’t get anyone to answer helpline, spend ages on hold using a non-free number via mobile. Online help just sends us round a loop of checking system status and trying the phone number again....

Thank you for that but unfortunately nobody will be home as we have work commitments and need more notice. The engineer will turn up and have no access. I am unable to reschedule the appointment online as it does not appear in our online account dashboard or anywhere else there. I cannot sit on the phone at work waiting for the support line to pick up either, before the 12pm deadline today to change it. Please advise or rearrange the appointment for Thursday 11 March or as near as possible. Thank you.
