No Landline

My landline is completely dead.  Service status says there is no problem. Virgin has carried out upgrades in area recently. My virgin 3 hub shows telephoney disabled.  My home phone connects not to the Hub but via an NTL box connected into the main incoming line before the Hub. My wife and I are elderly and vulnerable and really need this sorted ASAP. Our Virgin Mobiles and our back up Giff Gaff sims are on the O2 network which is very very poor at our location. Our only reliable service is using Whatsapp on WI FI.Help please
