No Home Phone Line

Hi

I live with my mum who is 79 and have over the last couple of days had no dialling tone when trying to make a call, and when my brother has tried to ring he can't get through.

We have tried taking the adapter out of the wall and putting it back in, and tried plugging another home phone in the wall to see if that worked, but made no difference. When we have tried going onto the Service centre online, we can't even check our own line or book an engineer as the site is saying it has a problem, can someone help us please?
