92 is about the speeds you would see if your connection if not gigabit and you are using a 100mbps network card.

What does windows say your network card speed is.

Hi sorry for the late response. Yes you were correct, I completely forgot about the network card limits (I also have a switch in line as well as most of my stuff runs off Ethernet cables rather than wireless)  both these were 10/100mbps. Both now changed to 1gig for about £25 and I am seeing 373 down and 37mbps up. Thanks again for your help with this. As a side note it would be good for Virgin Media to ask about these specifications at the time of install and inform the home owner to get the network card in there desk top pc or laptop and or any inline switches upgraded if required  Again thanks for all your and the other contributors help on this.
