Hi I have connected my new landline etc today. I have phoned my mobile to get my new number but I would like confirmation that my old number is being transferred before I cancel my bt line. Any idea how I check
There is no need to cancel your BT line. In fact, doing so may prevent the number port from going ahead. The correct procedure is that when you ask Virgin to port your number they arrange for your BT account to be shut down on the day your number is transferred. You need take no action as this is part of the normal fixed line porting process.
