My number hasn’t ported over

I had my services installed last Wednesday (15th July) and I was told my number would be ported over. Was told it would take anything up to 7 days but nothing has happened. My old provider BT want to cancel my previous agreement with them and I’m scared I will lose my number. What is going on, on the Virgin media side and what should I do on the BT side?
