My landline phone has gone dead

No dialling tone. I've tried two different phones, but there seems to be something wrong with the line. Checked service status with VM who say there are "no known issues" in my area

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem please?

Are you able to send a screenshot of what you can see?

Try to avoid posting any personal information.

Kind regards.

The "orders and appointments" link is no longer there on myVM homepage so i can't go there to do a screenshot of the entire page. However, i have already posted (on Tuesday) effectively a "screenshot" of the only message that appeared on that page:

it looks like you don't have any open orders!

(for some reason it won't accept the HTML formatting this time!

AFAICS there was no notification on that page of any appointment that had been made. In any event, the problem has been solved. An engineer did turn up but i missed him as i was unable to access my appointments and i was out when he arrived.

However i caught him as he drove away and he said that he had 'rectified a fault' that he found in the box outside my house. The phone has since been working fine.

Thank you for organising the 'repair', although it does seem that your appointments system and/or your instructions on how to use it need updating.

Hi bully9

We are sorry, you should have also received text messages to confirm the appointment.

It may be we have outdated details recorded for you.

You can update your contact details via your online account if these are incorrect.

Were happy to hear this is now resolved 🙂

Just a quick update - there are indeed messages in my 'primary' ntlworld inbox. I didn't look there because the address Virgin has always otherwise used (for bill notifications etc) is my 'secondary' address. The previous last message in my primary address was in January. And, of course, i was looking in the place where i was instructed by the earlier post in this thread.

We can appreciate the frustration caused.

As above we're glad to hear the appointment resolve matters.

Do get back in touch if you require any further assistance.

Regards,

Kain

Actually, all is not back to normal; the appointment did not resolve matters. When i dial 1471 i get: "Sorry the service requested is not available from this line".

Before this 'repair' the service was working perfectly.

Hello bully9.

Thanks for replying.
Sorry to hear about the issue with your 1471 feature.
I can look into this for you.
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the Logo top right of your screen that would be great.
