Mum has dementia. I have rang her. She answered but it cut out a few seconds later. She has not out the phone down. Now when I call her it is engaged. She is an hour drive away. Can virginmedia send a reset or a tone down the line so she picks it up?

Please can virgin rep contact me. This is an emergency. They have done this before for me.

Many thanks Sarah

Hi @sezicoolcat

Welcome back to the community.

Sorry to hear that your mother's phone is currently not working. Can you advise if you know if the landline is connected to the router or the master socket on the wall?

It isn't not connected to the router itself we can't do any internal tests unfortunately, but we'll still try and help best we can.

Hello team. It has done this again. Tried calling mum in law. Doesn't ring. Gives a recorded message  - this number is temporarily unavailable.

Husband heading over there now, but takes an hour. Can someone test the line the way that you do please? I have tried with the online check status, but no fault found

Tha k you team,

Sarah

All OK now. We went there and had to call you for support to get the phone working. 80 miles round trip. But all sorted now. Its a shame when I done a test online that it didn't detect a fault, when there was.

Hi there @sezicoolcat, thanks for the update on the Virgin Media forums.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the landline on your mother in law's phone.
The service checker may not find a fault if there is no area outage but it may something internal which wasn't detected unless with the home checks.
May I ask how the issue was resolved?

Let us know.

Kind regards,
Ilyas.
