Hello,
VM recently installed a Motorola FW500 phone for my grandparents. This is connected via their TiVo box as they don't have broadband.
My grandad has been taken in to hospital overnight and we have been trying to call Nan all morning with an update. No response on the phone so we got worried and went over to check on her.
It turns out she was simply on the phone and the new phone does not give an engaged tone if the line is busy. Is there some way to fix this?

Have you checked to see if she has activated call waiting? This would stop an engaged tone

Thank you. They are technically totally clueless so it will be on default settings. Would that be a call to VM to check or a setting on the handset?

I am sorry to hear about the issues your grandparents are having with the phone.
Just to clarify, we would supply a hub for the phone to connect to, this wouldn't be done through the TV box.
