Hi,

I have plugged a new cordless phone into the wall but I have no dial tone. I have unscrewed the plate like advised and plugged into the test socket but still nothing.

Hi @MrsBaird18,

Thanks for your post, and welcome to our Community Forums. Can you please confirm whether this is a brand new landline installation? Have you received a Hub with an RJ11 adapter?

Did the socket work with your previous equipment? If it is a new install and you have received the equipment, please can you try installing your landline as displayed in the guide here

Hi, no this isn't the first installation. I had a phone plugged into the wall before but the line was very crackly so I didn't use it often. I have now brought a brand new phone and plugged it on exactly the same way but there is no dial tone. I read about plugging my phone into router but I haven't the lead to connect the phone to the hub

Also, I have been able to access your service on our system and I can see you contacted our team today. What was discussed with our team regarding this issue? Were they able to provide clarity?

Nothing was sorted as they transferred me diagnostics and they never replied. I've never had anything aboit setting up phone line before not even when we first got it 4 years ago  I just plugged the phone into wall
