Your phone will only work via the VM hub if VM have switched you to that type of connection. They will notify you when that will happen.
You can pay VM £25 for a non-fault call out to modify your phone extension wiring to place the base station where you want it.
Alternatively, you might be able to add another cordless satellite handset to your existing system if you just need an extra handset somewhere else.

Hi Chardy51, welcome back to the community! Thank you for posting.
It may be the case that your landline services are still connected via our traditional cable service, which would prevent them for working if connecting your landline handset to the hub. If you need us to check this for you I can send you a PM to confirm a few details and check on the account.
If you want to have the socket relocated in your home we can arrange this for a tech call out charge of £25.
All of our customers are in the process of migrating to the 21st Century voice (Voice over IP) service, although this is happening in phases. If you would like us to get you set up on 21CV for your landline we can also offer support with this!
Please do be aware once you have swapped over it is not possible to go back.
