Landline will not receive calls since changing to your new VOIP service

Any ideas?

My landline was switched to VOIP last week, using the modem and adaptor that VM supplied. Since then my line wont accept incoming calls ... all outgoing calls are fine, the ring tone is fine no other issues.

My phone is a Beocom 6000.

Hi @Carlos09,

Welcome to our community forums and thank you for your first posts.

Sorry to hear you have not been able to get inbound calls on your landline. We can understand the inconvenience caused and we want to best help. Just to confirm, have you checked your cabled connections to see if they are secure and in good condition? Have you also checked here for a local fault virg.in/service?

Please get back to us when you can.

Thanks,

Hello, thanks for the reply

Yes, both connections and services are in good order.

Thank you for letting me know @Carlos09.

Are you unable to receive calls from multiple numbers or a specific number or network in particular?

Thanks,

Tested it with mobile devices on the Virgin Network, along with a BT landline, both with the same result.

It seems to be independent of numbers and networks.

Thank you for your reply.

I have completed some checks from our side and I have not identified any issues within your area or with the set up that could explain why this would be happening.

With that being the case, I would like to take some further details and potentially arrange a technician appointment.

To do this, I will pop you over a private message to the purple envelope on the top right of this page now.

Speak soon,

I have exactly the same the same problem as Carlos09, which the engineer was unable to resolve other than by changing my phones!

BT have what they claim will work with their wifi adaptor but I am reluctant to change supplier after 30+ years excellent service

Seems this problem is common to Beocom 6000 owners - has anybody come up with the definitive solution?

Thanks.

Thanks Akua_A. Yes all checked with engineer present and using a couple of 1970's handsets.

Hi there @q6, welcome to our forum and thanks for your post.

Sorry to see that you have also been having issues with your calls since the home phone switchover, just to confirm, are things still looking ok with these different phones being used?

Let us know.

Regards

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

The ancient hard wired phones 'work ok', but have no facilities such as tacts list, caller display, etc., but behave as Carlos said.

On the internet there are discussions, but as yet no clear answer for your users, unlike BT who claim they have an adapter, which it's said will not work for us.

There are many similar users who when changed over will find the same problem, so I trust you and your engineers are on the case.

Some sort of repeater like BT's may be the solution.
