Landline through my hub

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knows any more info on being able to simply plug my landline phone into my router as my landline/wall socket hasn't been working properly for some time. Last I heard, I needed to wait until my area was being updated? (Hove).

Many thanks

Nick

Hi @Nickster,

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm very sorry to hear that you're facing some ongoing issues with your landline service. It's correct that you would need for the service to switchover before you can access and use landline services via your router. Have you received any communication about your local switchover date yet?

If not, we'll need to do some diagnostics to narrow down the problem. To that end, can you clarify what troubleshooting you've performed in an effort to remedy this so far?

Thanks,

Hi Zach,

Thanks for replying. I had a diagnostic check some time ago but they could find no fault on the line despite the crackling, squeeling and odd rings (just one or two rings) then stops - annoying in the middle of the night! Anyway, I just want to forget about the cable or wall socket and have it working through the router but how many months or years before the switchover comes to my area?

Nick
