Landline telephone issue

BigAl33
Tuning in

Hi. This message is for the technical/engineer team. For nearly a month now my landline telephone has been irregularly inoperative. This was reported at the time, an engineer visited and fixed the broken cable, and the telephone worked on and off. Since then my package was upgraded to the 360 series. The telephone cable was re-attached to the router on the 1st November. The telephone worked for about 24 hours, now there is a very loud crackling type noise which drowns the ring tone, and you cannot have a conservation once the person answers the phone. Please help again.

Hi BigAl33,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome back, sorry to hear your phone isn't working correctly, have you tried a different handset since being connected to the Router?

Regards

Paul.

Sorry for the delay. Yes tried the other handset.

Is the other handset you tried part of a set and are they dect phones?

Regards

Paul.

There are 2 phones which are part of a Philips set.

You would need to try a standalone up to date phone if possible, as it is a set if not compatible both will do the same.

Regards

Paul.

I’m afraid I cannot do that. I’m positive the outside cable connection is not working properly.

Hi BigAl33,

I was able to locate you on our system with the details we have for you, we have picked up a short term connection issue, this can be due to a loose connection, please check all your internal connections are hand tight, once done please unplug the Router from the power and leave 2 to 3 minutes then plug back in.

Regards

Paul.

OK Paul I’ve just done that.

Hi BigAl33,

Thank you for trying the above, are you now able to make calls?

Regards

Paul.
