Hi, I've received an adapter in the post for the switchover in my area on 5th Dec 23. I have a DECT phone system. Cordless with 2 handsets which are connected. The main handset and base are near my hub. The other is in the bedroom- a distance away. Do I need to do anything more than plug the adapter into the hub and phone base unit? Will my 2nd handset still work? I'm sure I've read there are issues with DECT systems but unsure what they might be. Can anyone clarify please

If you use a cordless phone system consisting of a cordless base station/handset and one more satellite handset wirelessly linked to the base, then you would do exactly what you have described.
Plug the cordless base station into the TEL1 socket on the hub via the VM adapter and use the second satellite handset where it is needed.
Very occasionally, in topics on here, customers report a satellite handset no longer works but this is often just a case of the satellite handset losing contact with the base when the equipment is unplugged and connections are moved. Going through the process of re-pairing the satellite to the base should restore any lost connection.

Hi Jackie 👋.
Thanks for reaching back out to us. If you do have more than one handset in your home we would need to arrange and engineer to ensure that your area set up correctly so that they are both working the way that they should be.
Please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.
Thanks.

Thank you, I hoped it would be as simple as that! VM are private messaging me about a possible engineer visit but hopefully it won't be necessary. Maybe I'd misunderstood about DECT phones being a problem. Fingers crossed.
