Landline stopped working

I can no longer make our receive calls on my landline. 

When I try to dial out, the phone just sounds dead.

When someone calls, the phone rings but when it connects,  there is a sort static noise, no-one can hear each other and it disconnects. 

I have tried different handset with same problem. 

This has been going for at least 5 or 6 days. 

Any ideas?

Hi. I'm having the same problem. I've tried everything and it's just dead. I'ts been like this for 3 days now.

I'm sorry to hear that you're currently unable to make or receive calls from your landline. I've been able to locate your account and there doesn't appear to be any known issues affecting your landline service, so because of this I have arranged an engineer visit to the property. The engineer came out and said it was a network problem.  He reported it and it was fixed the next day.
