Landline problem

Hi there,

My landline isn’t working properly. People can ring me but when I answer it just crackles and I can hear a faint ringing in the background. When I put the phone down it carries on ringing. I also can’t dial out. There is no dial tone. I’ve run a test using the website but it says there is nothing wrong. This has happened to me before in the past and it was fixed from outside.

Please can someone help?

Sorry to hear of this issue @gastewart, can you please advise me if you're currently connected to the master socket, extension socket, or if this is connected to the hub?

Have you possibly attempted to use an alternative handset? Do you have any other pieces of equipment that may be connected to the phone line?

It's connected to the master socket.

I don't have another phone to try. No other pieces of equipment are connected to the phone line.
