Landline number not transferred

Been waiting now for over 4 weeks for my old number to be transferred,  but still not been transferred. Can anyone advise who to contact please?

Would appear number was requested to be transferred but not done (awaiting a reason), and now old number no longer active and can't be transferred. 

Where do I stand with cancelling the contract?

Still waiting for an answer and to say the customer service is shocking, last person told me a new request will take 15 days!! I've now spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to rectify something Virgin Media failed to do and still no further forward......
