Landline number not ported

Hi,

I'm new to virgin and it seems they are having trouble porting my landline number. I keep getting a text message which says they need more information and to reply with CHAT to start chatting via SMS.

1. It says that I cannot respond to the message.

2. I do not wish to chat with someone via SMS as I would like to speak with someone.

 

Please can someone assist?

I am sorry to hear that you have had some issues with your landline number being ported over to us.

 

Is your landline still active with your previous provider?

Hi Zak

It shouldn't be as that account has been closed and I requested that the number be ported to the new virgin line. I have just tried and it does ring however but no answer. I would expect to give another tone and not ring, so slightly concerned it's been given to someone else already.

Just would like someone to speak to at virgin and let me know, or better still someone call me?

Just some questions, when it rings, does it give a single tone, or does it sound like it is ringing? 

 

What happens when someone tries to call, does that ring as well? 

 

When did you port the number over to us?

it rings twice. I moved into the property 4 weeks ago and it was supposed to be ported in and around the 17th April.

Thanks for the details @Marekgrover.

 

I would like to take a look at your account to see what is happening, and find out what information we may still need from you as the text messages you received state.

 

I shall send you a private message now so that we can pass DPA and look into this further.
