I would contact Virgin again urgently, as it looks like you may have a crossed line in the cabinet. You could be making calls on another customers line (& adding them to their bill). Response times here can be several days, plus you would have to pass DPA restrictions, so I would try calling tomorrow morning at 8am as soon as the call centres open.
