Landline number changed

So I switched my broadband to virgin media. When signing up for it I selected ‘keep my landline number the same’. 

Virgin media has texted me today, saying my landline number has changed - I’ve got a new landline number. 

My broadband package is due to be delivered today and will be starting. My line is with BT and I know it’s not an easy process however, it is possible to keep the number the same. 

I want the same landline number. How can this be sorted?

Typically, if your old landline is still active, we may be able to port the number over as seen here https://www.virginmedia.com/help/mobile/keep-my-number I have sent you a private message to further look into this.
