Landline number changed

I discovered today that my home number has changed without being notified.

For a few months I had trouble calling my home number but was not too bothered as my broadband was unaffected. The number has worked without issues at the initial stages.

To my surprise my wife had to call me and the landline was totally different from what was provided at installation over a year ago.

Impossible to speak to anyone in customer service during this pandemic.

Very strange that the number would change without you requesting this, we appreciate you taking the time to contact us via the forums to look into this further.

 

Have you made any changes to the services received or package during this time? Have you had any visits by technicians during this time?

Thanks for responding to my query.

It is indeed strange. No I have not requested a change or had an engineer visit for any reason.

Call centres are currently impossible to reach and only wondered if it may have happened to someone else.

This is the classic symptom of a crossed line in a local cabinet. This should be followed up as quickly as possible, as it is likely your calls are going on someone else’s bill & vice-versa. A tech needs to be sent out to investigate.

  • Your full name
  • If you're the account holder
  • Your Virgin Media account number
  • Just the 1st, 3rd and 5th characters of your password
