Landline not working

Hi

I can’t make or receive calls from my landline, When I lift the receiver all I can hear is a buzzing, but when someone rings me they can hear the line ringing out at their end, but we dot receive the call! I’ve reported the problem this morning by using a mobile phone, the person I spoke to tested the line but they were more interested in sending me a devise to put into my hub to change over to a digital landline, which they said could take between 2-5 days to arrive. Other people in the street are having the same problem! I would like to know when an engineer will be coming out to fix the problem! The problem has happened before in July this year an engineer was sent to the box up the road. Would appreciate a reply

All sorted now it was an area problem the phone is working and so are all the others in the street
