Landline not working

Frak1948
Tuning in

Hi,

We have had a message today saying that the 'switchover is now complete' and to connect an adapter. Unfortuneately we have not been sent an adapter and therefore we have no landline phone service.

Hi Frak1948,

Thank you for your post, welcome back to the Community Forums.

I'm sorry to hear you do not have an adapter to connect your landline to your hub. We will be able to arrange one to be sent out to you.

I'll pop you over a private message now so I can take your details.

Thank you

Beth

Hi Frak1948,

Thanks for confirming your details via private message.

I've now sent out an adapter to you so you can connect your landline. You should receive this in around 5 working days.

Please let us know once you do and if you need help with anything else. If you did need to use the landline service urgently, you can also purchase these adaptors from most hard ware stores. They're called RJ11 adapters 😀

Cheers

Beth

Thanks Beth,

As our telephone cable runs externally from the VM box outside the property to an internal VM telephone socket at the rear of the house and our V3 router is situated in a closet in a hallway, there is no way I can connect the incoming telephone cable to the router/RJ11 when it arrives.

Your advice please.

Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks for coming back. We wouldn't advise on keeping the Hub is a closet as it really needs to be in an open and clear environment. The telephone would just be connect through to the hub and adapter, rather than through the telephone socket.

We can book in an engineer visit if you require an extension fitted, so you can have the landline located a bit further away from where the Hub is. Let me know if that's something you'd like us to book in.

Beth

Hi Beth,
Thanks for getting back to me.When we moved into this property 3 years ago the Virgin engineer who did the transfer of equipment from our previous house sited the hub in its position and did the phone line connections.
The landline has already been sited away from the hub as previously advised. We need a working VM landline as per our contract.
Please expedite
Regards

Frank.

Hi Frank,

That's no problem at all. Now the home switchover has been complete as per your original post, once you receive the adapter you'll be able to plug in your home phone to your hub and you'll be good to go. Your landline service will work over the internet now rather than through the copper lines.

Let us know if you have any issues once the adapter is received.

Thank you,

Beth
