Hi,
My elderly mother in law lives with us and relies on the landline as she struggles to use a mobile phone. Since Thursday it hasn't worked and we have tried another phone without any success. Is there any other things to try or do we need an engineer visit ?

We're sorry to hear of the landline issue, especially since there are people in the house that rely on this as we understand it is a vital service.
On our end, we checked and have not detected any area faults to cause this, we'd be eager to get a closer look into things for you and have it fixed asap.
Could you please let us know of the below so we can proceed with some checks for you?
a) do you have a dial tone (when picking up handset and before you shape a number to call)?
b) does the phone connect to a VM socket (master socket) or extension?
Also, how many handsets are currently connected and in use?
Let us know of the above and we can best assist with this.

Hi Adri,
Thank you for getting back to me
The phone plugs into a VM master phone socket.
There is no dial tone when you lift the handset, if you dial the number you get the ringing tone but it doesn't ring indoors.
There is one handset connected to the socket
