Handset of landline not ringing when calls made to it although to anyone dialling our number a normal ringing sound is heard, hence the presumption is we are out/choosing not to answer. Answerphone does not kick in. If I dial the landline from my mobile then pick up the handset, a clear connection is made, and we can also make outgoing calls. The landline is connected via a plug socket not a hub and different handsets have been tried with the same result. Handset volume is turned up. Other similar comments suggest this is likely to be an external Virgin fault rather than a handset fault - can anyone confirm please?

Update, this was not anything to do with the handset but a fault on Virgins part which was corrected with a switch to a digital connection via our hub. Engineer visited and did the necessary within 48 hours. Thanks
