Landline not receiving calls

I've seen another identical post to this...what's the solution please....

I've retained the previous number for my new house. A new number was issued. The number has been changed to the old one and will dial out and shows on caller I'd on my mobile but when you call the landline you just hear a continuous tone on and the landline doesn't ring. Also, the temporary number no longer works so I am unable to receive calls on the landline on either number.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with your landline.

This may be a porting issue with the existing number coming over.

I'd like to take a look into this for you.
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security. 
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.
