Landline no dialtone (line busy)

Hi,

Since Saturday my landline has been dead. There is no dialtone so can't dial out and incoming call tests just say 'line busy'. I've checked all connections indoors and have test connected other older phones we have kept, but result is the same.

Virgin website online tests shows no error found and no faults in the area.

I'm wondering if line has been damaged by the lightening storms that we've had?

Any advice? Or will this need an engineer visit?

Thanks for posting, I'm sorry to hear you're having some issue with your landline.

 

I've been able to locate your account using your forum details and can see that you're currently affected by an area outage. 

 

The fault reference for this is F008333549 and we're expecting it to be resolved by 11.30pm this evening.

 

Please keep us posted with how you get on with this after the fix time
