Landline no dialling tone

Since yesterday (2nd November) we have had no dialling tone on our landline. The handset says that there is no connection. We have also tried an old wired phone to check it's not a handset issue. Still nothing .

In typical fashion the app shows no problems in my area, but there clearly is.
