My landline is out of service, no dial tone. I have checked all locally. Online diagnostic tool not working. Help appreciated.

How's things today? If still the same, does setting the landline phone to 'tone' resolved the issue? If not, can you unplug it and re-plug it back in for me?

Still no dial tone. Adjacent to Virginmedia mastersocket is a BT one from a former contract, if i plug into that i get dial tone, but calls fail as i don't pay for that service.
It needs a tech visit I'm afraid, my colleague has removed and re-added it from the switch and tested.
