Landline no dial tone and engaged tone when called
I don't normally use my landline to make calls, but i was informed that my home number was constantly engaged. I then found that i had no dial tone when picking up the landline to try and make a call.
The landline plugs into an existing telephone socket that has been there for more than 15 years at the front of the house, and the hub is in a different room. I have disconnected my phone, ensured the cable is connected fully into the socket and tried a new phone, which has made no difference.
Not sure how long it has been like this, but going through service status, and self help provided no answers and it seemed to think that there was no issue with my equipment. The only option i was presented with, was to book an engineer, which i did but have not had any confirmation of the booking as of yet.
Will Virgin confirm the booking via email perhaps?
