Landline - no dial tone and crackling noise

Yet again have no dial tone and severe crackling/ noise on phone

Hello Pauline15, thanks for posting on our help forum today.

We're sorry to hear of the landline having no dial tone and much noise currently, we're eager to best help with this.

Is your landline connecting through the wall socket or the hub?
If it's via socket, could we ask whether you've tested different handsets / sockets to see if the issue persists?
In case it's the hub you're using, have you tried a reboot to see if this clears out the issue?

Lastly, have you checked here for area network faults which may be causing this?

Yes, I have done all those checks and actions. This is exactly the same problem as I had a few weeks ago. Am awaiting urgent calls from hospital re treatment.
