Hi there Dmason,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the community.

When you state an adaptor, is this one we sent out for you to switch over to fibre line?

Let us know,

Kain

No, that one does not fit.

You are going to have to provide some more explanation about what it is you are trying to do.

Are you a new VM customer trying to connect your phone to your VM landline for the first time?

If so, your phone connection is from the back of the VM hub. Phone sockets on the wall won't work for new customers unless they have been linked to the hub's phone connection. The VM adapter connects as per image below (though your adapter may well be white in colour, not black).

If VM has advised they are planning to switch your phone connection over to the hub, the phone will connect in the same way above once the switchover is completed. Until any switchover is completed, your telephone wall sockets would work as per normal.

If you are trying to do something else, please explain more.

Thanks for getting back to us,

As @goslow has alluded to, are you trying to place the adaptor into the wall socket or the Hub?

Also has it been advised when you are due to switchover?

Regards,

Kain

Switched over already.

Trying to plug new adaptor into ntl wall socket, doesn't fit. Cant use hub.

Imagine I need an adaptor.

Your only phone socket post-switchover will be TEL1 on the back of the VM hub unless, during the switchover process, VM came and linked TEL1 in to your existing home phone wiring to re-enable the old sockets on the new line.

You use the adapter provided by VM into the TEL1 socket on the back of the hub and connect your phone there.

Okay,

Is your landline not colocated near the Hub to place the adaptor in the back of the router?

Thanks,

Kain

No, la dline in different room and floor from hub. Need to plug it in where it is.

Ahh okay, thanks for the update on that.

With regards to this we'd need to colocate the hub and the phone handset together as we wouldn't use the line as previously done so.

Is there no way of doing so with the phone handset?

Regards,

Kain
