Landline migration - Emergency backup useless

Hi.

Have been forced to migrate my landline - like everyone else. Booked the "emergency backup line" as we have no mobile signal at home. What does it turn out to be - a mobile phone! What a waste of time. What actual emergency backup solution can Virgin offer me? I can't be the only one in this position.

Hi @ccfpcl

Welcome to our community forums and thank you for your first posts.

Sorry to hear you are unhappy with your Emergency backup. We want to do our best to help.

You can find out more about the emergency backup line here https://www.virginmedia.com/help/landline/fibre-phone-faqs.

The following link also has a user guide https://assets.virginmedia.com/resources/pdf/Your-VM%20Phone-Guide.pdf?_gl=1*1t9dtu0*_ga*NTc5OTE1NDI...

Is there anything else you need help with regarding your EBUL?

Thanks,

Bottom line, none whatsoever!

But think about it, VM like all other providers are being driven/ instructed by an OFCOM directive to phase out all ‘phone line’ connections within the next few years. The only possible emergency provision is via some kind of cellular connection. There really is no alternative and VM can’t do anything about it.
