Landline faulty no service for weeks

Hi

i have had no landline service for weeks. When I pick up the phone to dial out there is no noise at all on the line and I have used another phone to check it’s not a problem with the actual phone. As there are always some sort of problems with Virgin in my area I just assumed it was a service fault in the area but after speaking with neighbours who have said they havnt had an issue with their phones it’s clearly a fault on the actual phone line itself so can I ask for an engineer to come and check my landline to fix it
