Hi there my landline has no dialling tone, so cannot dial out. Also cannot receive calls. The handset displays a message “check line cord”. Couldn’t see any problem with cord, and tried another cord with no result. Tried another handset...still no joy! I did an online Virgin test which came back As showing no fault on the line. i have major health issues & have different hospital services ring me from time to time, I am worried I will miss an important call even though they have my mobile number too as they seem to always call my landline number when contacting me.
Yes have tried an old style non electric handset...still no joy, just dead. Traced the wire to the outside junction box which seems old & rickety..possibly where the fault lies. An engineer visit maybe?
