Landline dead - Bishops Stortford / CM23 area

My landline appears to be dead at the regular socket. It was working a week ago, but is now no longer working.

I was recently sent a hub adapter for my phone, and have tried my phone in this, and it's dead there also. I was not informed when switchover was due to take place - has this already happened? I am based in Bishop's Stortford.

I have also looked on the app for outages, but nothing is reported.

Thanks,
Gary.

Apologies for the issues faced garyw23,

However welcome to the community.

Our team should've advised of the switch date, can I ask are you able to try the line within the Hub to see if that works?

Let us know,

Kain

Connecting to the hub works fine - my first test failed as the adapter was plugged into socket 2 rather than 1. Changing that now works fine. Does this means I now have to run up my electricity bill keeping the hub on 24 hours a day?

Cheers,
Gary

Modem Routers are designed to be kept on 24/7. Turning it on and off could cause more issues and now yes to receive calls you need to keep it turned on.

Thanks for the update, again apologies for the switchover not being advised.

I'm glad the service is working however, we would advise as @cymru123 has posted to keep the Hub running as much as possible due any firmware updates etc.

Regards,

Kain
