Landline charges now connected to broadband

My landline is now connected to the broadband thanks to VM recent upgrade insistence, so theoretically I shouldn't now pay landline rental as using broadband, has anyone else queried this with VM ??

All phones from all providers are gradually being moved to this type of connection by 2025.

VM call their service 21st century voice (21CV).

The phone service is now carried on the same cable as the VM broadband rather than a separate telephone line.

You are paying for a landline service from VM as you did before, it is just the manner of delivery that has changed.
