Landline - cannot make or receive calls

Hi 

I have recently switched to virgin media but I dont seem to have a landline anymore.  There is a dialling tone but I cant make or recieve calls.

Thank you for your first post, welcome to the Community Forums and Virgin Media!

Sorry to hear you're having some trouble with your landline. Can I just check that your landline is plugged into your hub and not the wall socket? What happens when you try to make calls?

Also, did you request to port your landline number over when switching over to us?

The installation engineer didn't plug my phone into the hub and I didnt know that needed to happen. It is still plugged into the wall socket.  Where should i plug it into on the hub.  When I make a call it  says number can not be recognised.  I tried different numbers and it happened with them all.

I wasn't asked if I wanted to port my number over.  How do I do that? 

Thanks for coming back to us @Lyndaw, can you please confirm if the engineer has left an RJ11 adapter in the back of the hub?

The adaptor would be plugged into the port that says Tel 1 on the back of the hub.
