Landline can’t make or receive calls

I am unable to make or receive calls on my landline. When I pick the handset up there is nothing. I have called it from my mobile and it just rings until voicemail kicks in. This happened a couple of weeks ago and then cleared so I don’t think it’s the actual phone. 
Please could someone advise.

Have you phoned VM on 150 from your mobile phone to report the problem?

Thank you for your response. I tried 150 but it proved impossible to get through to the right department. I managed to contact Virgin by email today and hopefully someone from the technical department is calling me back on my mobile.

Have you since received a call back from the faults team and can you please confirm if your landline is still faulty?

Thank you for your response. Landline is still faulty! I have had an email to say an engineer will be coming on Friday.

Thanks for getting back to me Deb.

 

Great to hear that an engineer has been booked for you. It'd be nice to hear back on Friday to see how the appointment went, just so we know the issue has been resolved.

 

I appreciate that you are positive that it is an issue with the line rather than the landline handset itself, but can you confirm if you have tried using another handset in the socket?

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that the fault had now been fixed. A corroded connection wire outside my property. 
Engineers were very efficient and got the job done in 15 minutes.
