Landline Telephone Fault

Telephone went offline tonight, tried to book an engineer online no longer available, seems strange as it’s the only bit of the customer services that worked well. Tried to ring a customer services and gave up after 40+ minutes. Had the same problem about 6 weeks ago and the virgin forum team fixed by booking an engineer.

How can I get them to book me an engineer via this forum?

Hi Pinchbd,

 

Thanks for posting on our community forums. Really disappointed to hear that you are having issue with your landline again, we will certainly look at getting a technician booked for you but before we do this we will need to ask you to carry out some diagnostics for us first if this is OK with you?

 

Please can we ask if you have the landline plugged in to a master socket or in the back if your router?

 

Also have you been able to try another handset to eliminate the equipment?

 

If you have any extension handsets plugged in please can you make sure these are unplugged and try the main handset once more to see if any dial tone has returned?

 

Once you have done these steps please come back to me so we can assist you further.

Hi

It’s a twisted pair cable plugged into the master socket.

Yes it’s not the handset, alternative used and alarm is also erroring.

Handset says ‘line cord error, please check’.

Just the 1 phone used, no extensions.
