LL number successfully ported and working - now lost

Joined VM on 27/10 with broadband/phone/tv package

All good until evening of 31/10 when broadband and phone went down

Called up and was told that the order was still pending as TV element of package not initially activated - this is correct, as it was agreed with technician that routing of wiring was not practical. Was informed this happens quite frequently, would not be an issue, and I could change to a broadband/phone package instead

When I called to get things sorted out, the impression I had was that the BB/phone/TV contract had been auto-cancelled. The representative got the BB working again quickly, but could not do anything about the phone line, so transferred me to another dept. Having explained the situation, we were cut off - he tried calling back but kept getting cut off...

Fast forward to 01/11 - I call up again - the long and short of it being that I have been transferred to a BB/phone package (the exact details of which not discussed with me as constantly cut-off), but that my successfully ported LL number, which was working perfectly from 27/10 - 31/10 - had not been transferred to the new contract and was now lost and I couldn't get it back!

So as quite a few contributors to the forum, number I've had for 30 years gone etc.. etc...

However, the difference here is that the number was successfully ported to VM and calls successfully received, so the argument I was given about 'if no longer active at previous supplier, then lost' does not hold water.

Would be grateful for any help in getting resolved.
