Home phone doesn't work (no dial tone or incoming calls) and hasn't ever worked since install in April 2019. Don't recall engineer highlighting this. It is plugged directly into hub.
I only took the phone line because the intro bundle deal was cheaper than taking Broadband alone. Now that deal has expired, I'm paying for a phone line that I'm not using, and doesn't appear to work.
Phone line tested by Virgin support today. No issues found.
Told that my phone may not be DOCSIS compatible - no idea what this is and there is no mention of it on the Virgin Media website anywhere. Not very helpful. I'm hardly a technophobe, but I don't understand it.
Without buying a new phone, how can I check?
I've checked with my phone manufacturer and there is no mention of DOCSIS made anywhere. Phone model is hardly new, but isn't ancient either. It is a Panasonic kx-tg7861e
