Initiate landline port to Virgin Media

Hi Home Phone folks,

Today I had my VM phone line installed. I was told to contact VM once this was completed in order to port my existing Vodafone landline number (still active!).

I spent >6 hours on hold in the chat but it seems to be really busy as no one responded.

How can I initiate the number port? I want to end the Vodafone contract asap - I've been paying duplicate broadband bills (and now duplicate phone bills) long enough!

Hello

When you signed up did you ask to port the number if so once your VM line is active it will take upto 10 days for the port to complete.

Thanks Mike.  Yes, I requested porting my old number when the order  was  placed.  But I don't have that in writing anywhere. 

I want to confirm the port is actually initiated, as I saw many people posting here  their port took much longer than 10 days, and I am still paying Vodafone and VM.

Until yesterday I had an active order in VM, but after the technician activated the line, I don't see any active order. I don't want the port request to be lost in cyberspace.

Number port has been requested now for you 

Can usually take 10 days, but it might be a few days longer 

Can you let us know things go
