House move = new number???

I've recently moved house.

Did a self install for tv/broadband and its all working fine.

Thought about the land-line last night, as we never really use it. Dialled the number from a mobile,  dead.

Did my phone number change? I wasnt informed that it would, do I have to activate it?

Phone connect to the wall socket or hub3 (which seems to have telephony enabled)

Re: House move = new number???

You connect to the Hub3 now (top socket only) via the adaptor provided. You should keep the same number.

Re: House move = new number???

I wasn’t sent any adaptors. Just a splitter for tv and internet.

Re: House move = new number???

The fact telephony is enabled is the givaway.

You need an RJ11 plug to BT socket converter, and any standard phone should work.

Re: House move = new number???

I should still be hearing the phone ring when i dial the number surely? Even if I don’t have one connected I should hear it if calling it from my mobile, not the message which I get saying I’ve dialled an incorrect number.

Did you attempt to port your number?

Re: House move = new number???

No attempt to do anything, when I arranged the house move she said nothing needed done from me apart from move equipment to new flat and plug it in.

Re: House move = new number???

Hi Jaztim,

Sorry you're having some issues with the landline since moving.

If you've moved within the same area then you should be keeping your current landline number.

Are things still the same as last night?

If so then please reply to the personal message I'm sending you and we'll take it from there.

Thanks.

Re: House move = new number???

Thanks for the reply. I still get a message saying I’ve dialled an incorrect number. i have a phone line box in the cupboard beside the virgin feed. This is dead.
I can’t connect the phone to the hub3 as suggested earlier by a user as I never got any adaptors to do this.
Ive sent a reply to your pm.
