Any one else had loss of service following switch to fibre ours still not working. So far no positive information from virgin

We did have an engineers visit who said it was a system problem that could not cope with 10 digit numbers, area code plus 5 digit numbers. It would need a system fix nothing he could do. In the mean time can we not be switched back to our original line from the master box and ditch fibre until system upgraded?
