Re: Home phone

Hi @Daz944,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community forums. We're here to help.

I am very sorry to hear that you're having some issues receiving calls. Are you able to test call the landline from another phone, and pick it up to see if there is a call?

This way we can narrow down if it's an issue with the phone not ringing, or if you're not able to receive calls at all.

Thanks,

Re: Home phone

Is this a new VM installation for you with the phone via the hub or an existing installation where the problem has recently occurred?

What sort of age is the phone approx.?

Does the phone give an indication of an incoming call by showing caller ID number just without the ringing sound?

Re: Home phone

I can answer and have a conversation on the phone. It just doesn’t ring

Re: Home phone

Hi @Daz944,

Thank you for checking and confirming that for me.

Is it possible for you to try a different landline handset? This way we can narrow down if it's equipment related.

Thanks,

You need to test a different phone into the back of your VM hub. Not all phones ring on the VM hub (particularly older ones). Some phones require a ringing capacitor in the connection, which the hub does not have.

Are you able to answer the questions posed at message #3 above which may help diagnose your issue further?

Re: Home phone

Hi @Daz944,

To clarify, you've tested the same landline handset via a different phone socket in the same property, or was this in a socket at another property?

Thanks,

Re: Home phone

Thank you for coming back to us @Daz944

Can you confirm if you have managed to try another handset in the back of your hub?

Kind regards,

Zak_M
