Home phone on Hub 4

Received hub 4 as part of the gig1 package on Friday 15th. No phone connector was included in the box, despite the installation guide stating that I should only use the cables supplied in the box. Called Virgin media to query this, who said that they do not supply the cable so I would have to buy my own. Ordered an rj11 cable, plugged it in. No phone line. Logged into the hub4, says telephony disabled.

Not happy with this service. What can be done?

Sorry to see that you've been left without a cable for the landline services.

 

I've dropped an E-Mail the the area field managers in your area and have requested that one is dropped off to you at your property

 

Do please keep me posted if and hopefully when this arrives. I'll also seek to update the thread where appropriate also

Can you please advise me if the landline can get a dial tone when plugged into the phone line, rather than the hub?

Yes, when plugging into the wall socket the phone works as it should.

Thanks for coming back to me

 

It's been pointed out to me that you're not on a DOCSIS phone line and therefore with your service, you would be required to plug the handset into the phone line

 

Hence why this telephony services are stated as disabled when logging into the hub
