My father is 97 and his home phone is not working again.
He is vulnerable and needs it.

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear he's having some issues with the line.
Can you confirm if he's tested another handset?
Is the phone plugged into the main socket or extension?

Yes we have tested another handset and plugged it directly in.
The land line cuts off frequently. He is 97 and relies on the land line for carers and family and nurses. I need you to check the outside lines as the message says this phone is out of service. He specially needs it at night. I know the area checks show no issue but it's my house that has the problem with the line. Please treat this as urgent.
There is a Virgin box across the street from him which is partly open with wires hanging out.
Please can we sort this as he is vulnerable.

An engineer came out.
There was fault with the lines.
It is now fixed. Hopefully!
