Home phone not working

Home phone not working strange noise coming from ear piece cant ring out or recieve

Thanks for posting. My apologies about the telephone line but I am going to help sort this 🙂

 

Just running some tests, no outages nothing listed which is a good sign. Are you plugged into an extension socket? The master socket will have a larger box and contain a logo of Virgin Media, NTL, Telewest or Nynex. Any extension sockets will be smaller and have no logo.

Thanks for coming back to me.

 

Please can you do the following;

 

• Check the phone is seated in the base unit correctly & powered on. 
• Remove all other equipment connected to telephone sockets. 
• If you can - unplug the phone & checks another phone directly into the main socket ensuring this is a VM socket and not the one with BT or Sky logo. If no alternative handset available then ensure the original phone is plugged into the main socket with no other pieces of equipment being plugged in

Hi john 

Done that phone say display says check phone line still like a dial tone sound but that's it trued to ring  it with mobile no good
